In addition to designing, oak framing is central to our business. Our philosophy is simple: frame it right!
Unlike many oak frame companies, our oak frames are not forced together with straps etc. Everything is framed to the shape or wind of the oak beams, ensuring that when it comes to erecting your frame, the joints fit perfectly. This process takes longer than typical manufacturing but is worth every minute once you see the results.
All joints are traditional ones that have been used over the last millennia, so we know the building will stand the test of time. The only differences to a frame we manufacture today and that of 500 years ago is the use of light power tools, more regularized timber and the use of heavy lifting equipment on site. In addition, we use only the best graded oak (THA or QPA equivalent), sourced from sustainably managed forests.
